The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has greatly affected all of us, Gemini’s Beauty hope that you and your families have been kept safe and well.
This time has been extremely difficult, we are missing being able to operate and deliver the treatments that you, and we ourselves, adore! The thought of reopening the salon is giving us butterflies- the good kind!
Upon reopening, there will be some changes to the way we operate in order to keep you and us as safe as possible- our number 1 priority. Whilst the salon/clinic has been closed we have been working on our professional development- Gemini (Gemini’s Beauty), Kiera (KLE Beauty), Daisy (Bangbang beauty) and Emilie (Emilies Aesthetics) have completed Coronavirus (COVID-19) Infection Prevention and Control courses:
- BARBICIDE Covid-19 Certification for the professional beauty industry training (Kiera- KLE Beauty, Daisy- Bangbang beauty and Emilie- Emilies Aesthetics).
- COVID-19 Clinical Safety Course (ACCREDITED) (Gemini- Gemini’s Beauty).
We have also made a number of changes in the way that we operate that you will notice when you next visit.
When booking appointments you will notice your time slots have added ‘buffer time’, this added time is not added onto your treatment time. Your treatment time will remain the same but we will need time after your appointment to prepare for our next clients by thoroughly cleaning the salon and ourselves. If you are late to your appointment we will not work into this buffer time, this is strictly for cleaning purposes.
If any of our staff feel ill or have symptoms of COVlD-19, they will self-isolate immediately and not come into the salon. This may mean that we have to cancel your appointment at short notice. We appreciate that this may be inconvenient but it is done entirely for your own safety. If your appointment is cancelled you will be able to re-book again.
If you or any of the people you live with feel ill or display any symptoms of C0VlD-19 – please advise us as soon as possible and DO NOT COME TO THE SALON FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT. If you turn up to an appointment displaying signs of illness you will be turned away. This include those of you who are ‘getting over’ a cold, cough, or other illness. Even if you are convinced it is a common cold PLEASE DO NOT VISIT – some of our team live with vulnerable family members and it is important we keep them safe. Our TERMS & CONDITIONS have been amended and now state that you will not be charged for any missed appointments with you due to illness/ other, during this COVID-19 pandemic. Deposits/booking fees can be rescheduled until further notice but cannot be refunded.
Before attending ANY appointment you will be required to sign a COVID-19 waiver. Signing and agreeing with this waiver constitutes full disclosure and supersedes any previous verbal or written disclosures in regards to COVID-19 and treatments at Gemini’s Beauty. You are not pressured to sign this waiver.
Visiting the Clinic
For your safety and to maintain social distancing, we ask that you attend your appointments as close to the appointment time as possible. Please do not turn up early for appointments, you will be asked to remain in your car until it is safe and ready to enter the salon.
The Gemini’s Beauty salon is undergoing a full ZOONO Microbial shield treatment on the 4th July. Zoono is a Microbe Shield which is a revolutionary, highly effective technology that inhibits the growth of a bacteria, mould, mildew, fungi and viruses such as COVID. This product has been proven to be effective against COVID for up to 30 days and is non-toxic and non-bleaching, which is a safe solution for our staff, customers and business.
We are introducing a strict ‘no friends’ policy. This means that you must attend your appointment by yourself, if you bring any other person with you they will not be allowed into the salon. This is to reduce any risks of spreading the virus, to keep you and our staff safe. If you have booked appointments with friends /family members back to back then please continue to come to the clinic alone – one at a time. We understand that you may be from the same household but this is in order to protect our staff and others in the clinic.
We have increased the frequency of cleaning in the clinic including making sure that common surfaces, toilets door handles etc. are wiped clean using disinfectant products between each client. All tools and equipment will be disinfected or sterilised in line with the specific manufacturers’ instructions for your safety and between each client.
Wherever possible we will utilise environmentally, friendly, single use items during a treatment that will be disposed of safely after use in order to protect you from cross infection.
You will have access to hand sanitiser, soap and hot water to wash your hands with as soon as you enter the salon and we will also have hand sanitiser available for you to use when you come into the salon.
It is a requirement to wear a facemask to the clinic and for the duration of your treatment, if this is appropriate. We will be required to BRING YOUR OWN facemask. As you can appreciate, the cost of PPE has significatly increased- if you require a facemask then we can supply you one for £1 however, please appreciate that our stocks are limited.
Please don’t be surprised or upset if our staff use personal protective equipment (PPE) during your visit and during your treatment. This may include disposable gloves / facemasks / aprons and face visors where appropriate.
We can confirm that all washable items have been removed from the salon and replaced with wipeable items. For example, we have removed all blankets and replaced them with wipeable bed covers.
All disposable items are bagged and safely removed from the treatment area between each client.
We have introduced a new one way system through the salon. Please wait in your cars or the outside seating area until you are called in the salon. Before you enter we will complete a pre-assessment to rule out any COVID-19 symptoms. Upon entering please follow the pink arrows on the floor, starting with the sanitisation station. We may ask for payment upfront to reduce contact time.
We have carried out a risk assessment on all treatments and we are confident that we can continue to provide these safely.
Our treatment prices have been rounded up to the nearest 5. This is to avoid the handling of cash between practitioner and client.
During your treatment
Our staff understand the importance of hand hygiene and we will ensure that we wash our hands in accordance with NHS recommendations and WHO guidelines before the start, throughout and and the end of your treatment.
If you have any concerns whatsoever about your treatment please do not hesitate to address these. We will do absolutely everything we can to alleviate these.
After the treatment
We will be accepting BACS transfer or cash payments. All cash payments must be counted out by yourselves in front of your practitioner/therapist and placed in a sterile UV box. To avoid the handling of cash we would prefer you to bring exact amounts of cash.
All of these procedures have been implemented for your safety and that of our staff. We will continue to take advice from the Government and the NHS regarding safe practice and will amend them as necessary.
Thank you for your understanding and we are very excited to see you all!
